Fitting Seminars
“Michael’s seminar gave me the information I needed to set up
a complete fitting area in my shop. It’s been a great investment, and
we’ve
found that our customers for this service are willing to pay
for custom
fits and they are enthusiastically recommending it to
their friends.”

"Once again, THANK YOU for all your time and energy. The seminar in
Chicago was amazing. I liked the fact that you explained how the biomechanics
effect
bike fitting during the yoga session. It seemed to make sense to many people
by teaching this way. I talked to Dean Gore (Fisher brand Manager) about
the fit clinic and emailed Joe V and Roger Bird. I think we should have you
put on seminars at Trek and bring dealers back to 'Fit School with
Michael Sylvester.' I really am excited about the opportunities that
lie ahead. I can't wait to put on another fit clinic in the future.
I am taking my fit book around to all my dealers and showing them what they
missed."

"Just wanted to drop you a note on the fit you did for me when you were
back at Trek If you don‚t remember, I was the guinea pig on day one
with tight hamstrings / humped back / and flexibility like Gumby with rebar
stuck up his ass etc. and we ended up moving my position quite a bit (forward
and up). As a result of some unseasonably warm weather in Wisconsin (35 degree
highs); I've been commuting quite a bit. The new fit has worked from
day 1! I've been incorporating your yoga stretching as well, but since
the difference in on the bike comfort was noticeable from the 1st ride, I've
got to think that the bike position has made the biggest change. No tight
hamstrings, no unforeseen aches etc. arising from any of the changes. I haven't
done any hard efforts but I can't foresee that
being an issue.
I would be interested to find out more on the power correlations, as the
one change in form that I notice is pushing way off the back of the saddle
on gradual climbs (where down-shifting doesn‚t feel like the most natural
thing to do). I find myself standing more in some of these situations. And,
maybe that's a good thing.
One additional note, I practiced a bit of bike fitting on my wife and she
loves it, she's telling all of her friends and somehow feels that I
have enough free time on my hands to help her whole cycling group feel better
on the bike (thanks a lot)."

"A half inch here, a quarter inch there...and pretty soon you have some big
changes.
I got on the computrainer yesterday afternoon. And lo and behold the
huge disparity between right and left peddle strokes had magically disappeared.
The left/right power balance fluctuated a few percentage points on either
side of 50/50 instead of ~44/56. In addition to producing nearly identical
amounts of power, the two sides have very similar 360 degree profiles, they
produce power at the similar points in their rotations and they have similar
soft spots at the back end of the stroke (as described in the Australian
article).
Well done. Now I‚ll see how it performs during six days on the road
in Death Valley. And I'll need to start looking for a new pair of shoes
that
I can get modified at Mt. Soles."
Thanks a bunch.
